Exercises and seminars
For most courses, there are exercise sessions and seminars that follow on from the lectures. You deal with the subject matter in groups under the guidance of a professor, who provides you with methods to solve scientific and technological problems. In principle, these sessions are assessed continuously.
Learning experiences and practical sessions
These learning activities always begin with a concrete, engaging task that you carry out on your own. To complete this task, you have to do something (act) for which you have to deploy or develop the necessary skills. The task is of such a nature that an appeal must also be made to knowledge (think): it is the intention that you act with knowledge of matters. Concretely, use is made of or connected with the knowledge that is offered elsewhere in the course unit (through in-class or self-study). Finally, the task is of such a nature that it affects you in one way or another (feel), such that you actually experience satisfaction.
In the first year, the learning experiences and practical sessions are chiefly samplings that rouse interest for what is to come: company visits, a day with an engineer, team building sessions, lab assignments, etc. In the higher years, you carry out more complex assignments, like in the Management Game. These activities are assessed continuously.
