The 2008-2009 academic year was opened with a welcome address by Prof. eng. Arthur D’Huys, Group T's new General Manager.
What followed was not a standard academic opening, but an original event by the promising string quartet BL!NDMAN [4x4] STRINGS. They performed compositions from John Cage, George Crumb, Arvo Pärt, and Dmitri Sjostakovitsj.
The new academic year takes off rather positively for Group T. In comparison to the 2007-2008 academic year, the Leuven Engineering College counts 71 more students, amounting to a 28%-increase. The Leuven Education College remains at a status quo.
Moreover, the number of international students has more than doubled. Last year Group T welcomed 50 of them, this year no less than135.
At ACE-Group T, Group T's center for continuing education, the management and technology courses have gone up with 16%, the language courses with 21%.
