The Umicar Inspire is on display at the Shanghai World Expo May 1 to October 31, 2010. China expects to welcome over 80 million visitors.
The World Expo in Shanghai is the largest of its kind so far. 231 countries and institutes are particpating and 20,000 events have been scheduled. Every day, 400,000 to 800,000 people are expected to visit the 200 pavilions.
The Belgian pavilon takes up 5,000 m²; 1,500 of which is used as exhibition space. The exhibit's main theme is sustainability. It also focuses on our region's European dimension. Entrepreneurs can mingle at the business center. Or at the Belgian Beer Café, the Chocolate Corner, or the restaurant with regional dishes, which are also open to other visitors.
Solar energy fits the theme of sustainability like a glove. As such, the solar car deserved a spot in the Belgian pavilion. Umicore, the Solar Team's main sponsor, will put a life-size model of the Umicar Inspire on display. Something to be proud of.
