A Group T alumnus speaks

Luo Yiyang recalled how warmly she had been received at Group T when she started the Joint International Engineering Program there. The governor of Antwerp, one of the dignitaries in the audience during the panel discussion, wanted to know which skills the Chinese alumni had acquired as students in Belgium. The Chinese Biochemistry master explained the Beyond Engineering concept and talked about a cross-cultural cooking experience, learning Dutch at ACE-Group T, and her internship at P&G. "If I had not made it to Belgium, I would have never known how innovative their approach to studying is and what makes the Flemish tick professionally."

Her advice for Chinese youngsters who want to set off for Belgium? "Get to know the culture and allow yourself to be swept away by your new surroundings. Belgium is like a box of chocolates, let its content surprise you!"

Princely chat

After the forum, Prince Filip and his wife, Princess Mathilde, had a conversation with the rest of the Group T alumni present. Wim Polet, Director of Group T's International Office, talked about the importance of its collaboration with China to Group T and the furthering of this collaboration by expanding the Chinese alumni association that was founded in 2007.
