Group T intensifies collaboration with Ethiopia

Prof. Johan De Graeve, President, and Luc Janssens, Electronics lecturer, visited Ethiopia October 17 to 23, 2011. Their mission was to intensify the already existing collaboration with the country. The visit was an initiative of the Ethiopian ambassador to Belgium.

To meet the demand of highly educated engineers in Ethiopian companies, the Ethiopian government wants to rely on Group T's expertise to work on competence development in specific fields. To this end, the Group T delegation was welcomed by Mohamuda Ahmed Gaaz, State Minister of Science and Technology, and his secretary Teshome Sahilemariam.

During a visit to Dire Dawa University, one of Group T's partners, an agreement was reached for Group T to support the expansion of their labs, student- and faculty mobility, and the professionalization of their faculty. President Wagayehu Bekele, Vice President Fekadu Lemessa, and the entire university staff welcomed the delegation.
