Teams from both Group T and the K.U.Leuven will take over Martelarenplein on Friday, May 9. Their aim is to have each of their small solar vehicles race along a track using the sun's rays as their only source of energy.
The small solar cars were built by second-year Group T- and first-year K.U.Leuven-engineering students. The race is intended to illustrate that solar energy can be an alternative to polluting fossil fuels—the idea being that what engineering students are able to pull off in Leuven, should be possible on a bigger scale around the world.
The Small Solar Vehicle Race is a collaborative project between the K.U. Leuven and Group T, within the framework of the K.U.Leuven Association.
When: Friday, May 9. Technical check-up as of 13:00, race starts at 13:30.
Where: Martelarenplein, Leuven (in front of the train station)
