  • Status: Tetra Project (Technology Transfer Project, IWT)
  • Project partners: K.U.Leuven, Hogeschool Wetenschap en Kunst

Today, advanced manufacturing techniques allow for the production of artifacts with complex internal structures. However, verifying their dimensional accuracy remains challenging. Industrial Computer Tomography (CT) can provide a solution by x-raying the product at hand and in this way completely digitalize it in three dimensions.

Together with the project partners, Group T will explore the industrial application area of this technology of dimensional quality control and guide its introduction into Flemish companies. To this end, adjusted calibration and measurement procedures will be developed. Also, a series of case studies will be carried out in several companies. In the framework of this project, a doctorate on the further development of this technology will be established.
