SJTU Student Art Troupe plays exclusive concert

The Shanghai Jiaotong University (SJTU) Student Art Troupe is made up of a symphonic orchestra and band, a choir, a dance- and folk orchestra, and a theater group. On Thursday, January 19, 2012 they will perform exclusively at Group T. The program that evening will celebrate the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Dragon. Everyone is most welcome.

Shanghai Jiaotong University's Student Art Troupe was founded in 1994. It counts 16 students and 2 professors, representing all the university's faculties. Over the years, the company raked in awards at several competitions, both at home and abroad. In 2012 they will perfom in Germany and Belgium.

Shanghai Jiaotong University and Group T have been partners for several years now. SJTU entered Group T's Joint International Engineering Program in Engineering in 2006. More recently, SJTU also became involved in the Hongzhi Engineering Scholarship, also a Group T initiative. A Flemish Group T student also completed part of his master studies at SJTU.

Founded in 1896, this prestigious Chinese universtity ranks at number 124 in the 2011 QS World University Ranking and at number 37 in the field of Engineering and ICT.

• Entrance fee: 5 euro (payable on the evening of the concert), free for holders of a Culture Card. The fee includes the concert and the Chinese reception afterwards.
