Exams
Whether you know the required subject matters and whether you can apply this knowledge is evaluated by means of knowledge tests or exams. Each academic year counts three examination periods: January, June, and September. The first-year bachelors also have mock exams during their very first semester at Group T.
Examination regulations
The evaluation system at Group T is described in great detail in the examination regulations. It consist of the stipulations and regulations students and professors have to adhere to with regard to the evaluation at the university college.
Continuous assessment
Specific technical skills are being tested via skill-oriented exercises during the seminars following a system of continuous assessment. The professor gives regular feedback and advice.
Portfolio and ‘I AM’
Acting in a competent manner comes down to being able to apply the acquired knowledge, skills, and attitudes towards practical assignments in professional situations. Students work on the basic competences during teaching practice (internships and projects) and the meta-work sessions.
The portfolio is the instrument par excellence to test those competences. It requires students to gather illustrative materials of task accomplishment in teaching practice, both within and outside of a school’s gates.
This is tested once the academic year has passed, during the Integrated Assessment Moments (‘I AM’). During these, students prove that they are competent to move on to their next bachelor program stage or to graduate as a teacher who is able to bring about change.
