The Year of the Dragon is nearing. For the Chinese, it represents happiness, action, and new possibilities. To celebrate this occasion, the Confucius Institute at GROUP T organizes an exclusive music and dance performance at the university college’s Vesalius Campus in Leuven.
The institute is welcoming the university choir and orchestra of Shanghai Jiaotong University (SJTU), one of China’s oldest and most renowned institutes of higher education. SJTU’s main fields are engineering and information technology. The university has been a partner of GROUP T–Leuven Engineering College since 2006. Several of its students are following the engineering program in Leuven.
The university choir and orchestra were founded in 1994 and have in the meantime toured the world, raking in several prizes and distinctions along the way. January 2012, they are playing in Belgium and Germany to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
