Flanders Sends its Chinese Students Abroad

Last year, no less than 50 Chinese students graduated at Group T. The desire to expand their horizons and to look beyond the walls of their Beijing campus took them to Leuven. At the time this wasn’t an easy decision: after only one semester at a large Chinese university, they had to decide to leave the following year for an unknown country and an unknown institute. But this exploring attitude clearly hasn’t left them.
After graduation, some plan to stay in Belgium to continue their studies at the universities of Leuven, Ghent or Brussels. Like Shengbo Hou, who’s going to study Bioinformatics at the K.U.Leuven. Others will travel half the globe to gain further qualifications, such as Chen Chen, who will start a PhD program at the University of Connecticut in the United States. Finally, there are GROUP T engineers like Mingxin Feng and Wen Liu, well prepared for the job market, who are going back to China to look for employment.
