Target Group

The Postgraduate Program in Development Studies especially targets students interested in:

  • sustainable development
  • intercultural communication
  • peace and justice work
  • capacity building for active world citizenship
  • educational theory and practice from an intercultural perspective

Requirements

The Postgraduate Program in Development Studies is aimed at all graduate students who hold a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. A background in teaching and/or education is not necessary. However, sound English is an essential requirement (see the Admission Conditions).

Exchange students

If you do not hold a bachelor's degree yet, you can still follow certain parts of the program as an exchange student. You can follow the program for one or two semesters. If you take up only one, you can easily combine it with undergrad studies elsewhere, for example via the European Commission's Lifelong Learning Program, Erasmus.

You can register as an exchange student at Group T if your home university and Group T-Leuven Education College have reached a Learning Agreement. Check with your home university first.

Accreditation

The program has been officially recognized by the Flemish Ministry of Education and is supported by UNESCO. Graduates receive an officially recognized certificate.
